from what i understand FMG plans to sell a minority stake of 30-40 percent. I read that as 35%. if they can get 4-5 billion for it then its truly full steam ahead...
there are currently 160 million shares shorted (!!) and I see a long 3 months of gradual short covering until the actual announcement comes out.
Make no mistake.. there are some very big players trying to make several tens of millions shorting FMG and even praying for the el-dorado of bringing it down if the stars align... I think there is fat chance of that and they will realise it soon too.
Who knows even Jim Chanos might be lurking in the background. But then this is the guy who shorted AOL at $8 and covered at $80... lol
The iron ore bashing campaign is about to come to and end
and for the patient holders who have seen the price of FMG drop 25% in 1 month by an orchestrated 'strike' on various IO miners, I think we may need less than 3 months to get a 5 back at the front of the SP.
