Despite all the name calling you haven't addressed the question.
Some countries (like NZ, Iceland, Canada) have the benefit of Hydro to run their smelters. Hydro is very limited in Australia.
No matter how big the wind farm its power output is often zero. At that time smelters relying on wind power need to draw power from somewhere. Its simple. No amount of headlines about green power changes this.
The batteries required to run a smelter would be huge.
