thats a clever point lethalba, but hardly fair.
the lithium batteries concerned in the reported fires are in inappropriate disposal of Li batteries. tossed in the rubbish bin due to a lack of appropriate facilities for disposal.
so in reality its less a battery problem than a waste disposal issue.
there was another report yesterday that addressed fires where larger Li batteries were involved. the report showed that most lithium batt fires were caused by plumbing and weather exposure issues causing batteries to get wet.
and of course Sonic's retort wrt regulation is all important.
