Qiao Nan Han, the group vice-president of Maoneng Group, a solar and battery storage group, says the cost of storage is coming down and that will help accelerate the uptake of these new technologies.

He said there is huge demand for lithium ion batteries for storage.
"It is becoming a major application in utility-scale storage,'' he said.
Maoneng Group, which has been working closely with AGL, has been working for 10 years in the sector but had sharpened its focus on storage in the past two to three years.
"We wanted to pick and back a particular technology that was getting traction globally,'' he said.
