@Thesi thanks for sharing the podcast. I finally had a chance to listen to it.
It was a very interesting discussion and I guess the guest really placed some weight to the things being said.
First up, directly to your point made it is very interesting Livents comment about Argentina and their need to expand, but won't be able to do it all in their current turf. So whose turf in Argentina will they need to get involved with to make that happen? Who else has a big resource with very high quality that is up for sale? What does that all mean? So, you are right lots of interesting questions.
I also found the whole customer discussion (on multiple levels) very interesting. From relationships needing to work together during the good and hard times, to OEMs making quality decisions all the down the line, to the details of how diversified specifications need to be for each. I guess this emphasised even more then ever the importance of long term contracts and how difficult it is for any converter or battery maker to supply change.
Probably if anyone really needs to listen to this the most is the A40 holders. Just to understand the complexity of their situation. Their key customer has gone and to find someone to pick up their demand is very difficult and would take a very long time.
In other news, good to see some nice green early action. What comes of that in the next few hours or days is another question, but its good to have a nice start to the week.
Possibly, it has to do with this unreliable data continuing to show improvements in pricing. The trend does appear to be changing. Yellow boxes highlight improvements in percentages. If this continues for a few more weeks, and these prices start to have other flow on effects we may start to see the sector start to turn around. I'll be watching this data very closely over the next few weeks.
