He could be talking about both the US market and Worldwide new customer at the same time.
It May be a translation thing that skews it abit to read.
So it could be that worldwide Afterpay is overtaking Klarna by now (December) with signup numbers . I expect Afterpay to be doing 18k plus per day now.
We still have many more markets to enter where as Klarna are more widespread already.
