Google trend analysis for the week ending 28th December 2019.Afterpay in blue, Affirm in red, Klarna in yellow and Sezzle in green.

Another week gone by and another swing, this time not in favour of Afterpay. After a solid 2 months of increasing weekly in every state there have been a few states that dropped a few percentages, most notably Illinois, the 5th biggest economic state in the US:



Notable changes:
*Big drops in states Illinois (-6%), Pennsylvania (-7%), Ohio (-6%) and North Carolina (-8%).
*Most of these % drops were picked up by Affirm which has been the big loser over the last 8 weeks.
*Weighted-average google trend interest has dropped from 49% to 47% to be back to similar levels to where it was 2 weeks ago.

Looking at the reasons as to why the drop the weekly charts gives us some clue:



It looks like there was a much greater dip on googling Afterpay around 24th & 25th of December compared to other competitors, mainly affirm.
