BATTLER HIGH GRADE GOLD ZONE EXTENDED
Intercept of 6m @ 8.44 g/t Au including 5m @ 9.88 g/t Au returned from hole BGRC125 drilled 20m north of previously reported high grade intersection
Mineralisation remains open along strike to the north
Infill drilling defines the Battler Splay to approximately 110m vertical depth for resource calculation
Assay results have been received from five RC drill-holes completed at Battler during February 2010 designed to infill and extend the known mineralisation. Drill-hole BGRC124 was drilled up dip of the previously reported intersection of 14m @ 7.24 g/t Au (including 6m @ 12.33 g/t Au) returned from drill-hole BGRC120. The hole did not return any significant results suggesting that while gold mineralisation is high grade, the size of the target is smaller than anticipated. The intersection of 6m @ 8.44 g/t Au from hole BGRC125 lies 20m further north and shows high grades continue along strike to the north and gold mineralisation remains open down plunge.
Ongoing work at Battler will concentrate on section reinterpretation and a revised resource estimate which will be calculated from 3D modelling of the gold zone at Battler. This will then be used for preliminary pit optimisation and assessment of the underground potential.
The modelling will also aid further exploration targeting. Given the high gold grades and strong alteration zones encountered to date, SXG intends to continue target generation on the Battler leases.
Drilling is expected to re-commence at Bullfinch North in approximately 2 weeks, testing large geochemical and RAB gold anomalies within the pressure shadow to the north of the Ennuin granite dome.
