I only saw what the ABC reported during that period. I thought him a decent person, a moderate and responsive to better knowledge than his own on matters of climate and economics... that was in his early years in the House. I thought him honest, modest, intelligent and compliant with rules and laws.
this last seemed to become the problem perhaps. as he seemed to crimp,y too well to some of the requirements of his climb up the greasy pole. I think he lost his way and the power got to him, the aura that one can acquire from authority.
