Another U.S acquisition.
North Pointe P&C insurer purchased for $166m aud.
Heaven really, and another great deal for Mr O'Halloran (yes, yet another pat on the back). Who said insurance was mundane and boring when you have this man running the ship!
Close to $150m U.S in premiums, thats a hell of alot of float to add to this global empire. Strip out existing reinsurance contracts and carry on the risk on its balance sheet and unnecessary middle management and you have the QBE way to building an empire thats sustainable.
Who needs the heartache of trying to first convince the regulator and then turnaround IAG with its 11,000+ staff and 900,000+ owners when QBE can continue with its own knitting and still be the master of insurance on a global scale.
Lets hope monday does bring unwarranted selling!
