    Thanks for that auto.
I agree we have had a stellar start to the year re oil drilling successes but the bpt sp, and ASX200 market in general, is more interested in sad/bad european and US data and news than they are in "buying into an Aussie company based on its performance" [ie. a co. which is performing well financially and commercially despite global worries], which I read somewhere over the weekend and thought sounded like good advice IMO.
Looking at the BPT Top 20 as at 20thFeb 2012 I see JPMorgan Nominees [first and fifth biggest SHs] hold 20.7% approx or should I say "as a nominee they control 20.7% of voting shares?" Or else would they not be forced to make an offer for at least 50% of BPT if they "own" >20%?
    JP Morgan Nominees Australia Limited
JP Morgan Nominees Australia Limited is listed as the number two shareholder for all of the Big Four Banks. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of JPMorgan Chase & Co. You know - That Great Big American Bank.

In fact, they're also the number two shareholder in a few other Australian banks. They also own:
7.92% of Bendigo and Adelaide Bank and 7.77% of Bank of Queensland.
JPMorgan Chase had a $12 billion profit for 2009.

Apart from Mr Reg Nelson .30% at #18 on the list, all the rest appear to be Nominee or Custodial companies and they control about 65% of Beach.
Does that mean a change of majority control of BPT could be quite achievable in a short time if an offer was made by a predator like ORG, a $12billion dollar co.
