Let's say PW or Clinuvel learned of an WB looking to offload his 1.7 million shares. JPM sets the price and plays their games for several months, getting the price down to a comfortable purchase level. PW could not in good conscience (or legally) continue the buyback during this manipulation. The question is, when is it ethnically OK to resume? Normally, the day after Change of Substantial Ownership is announced, the info is public. WB's sale, however would not be public, and the share price could still be in the toilet because of all this. PW buying discounted shares because of WB's sale would be too unpalatable for his risk level.
