PM emphasizes Oil Ministry's vital role, its neutral activity

SANAA, July 14 (Saba) – Prime Minister Dr. Abdul Aziz bin Habtoor on Saturday emphasized the vital role of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals and the impartiality of its activities away from politics and its effects.
During his meeting with Minister of Oil and Minerals, Ahmed Daris, bin Habtoor hailed the ministry's efforts and policies that led to stabilize the supplies situation of oil derivatives in the domestic market.
The meeting discussed the role of the oil sector in cooperation with the United Nations in preparing the appropriate mechanism to utilize the country's oil and gas resources in order to provide salaries of the state staff in a constant manner.
The meeting touched upon results of the ministry's discussion with the United Nations on the situation of the ship "Safer", which carries 1.2 million barrels of crude oil, and the disastrous effects that may occur in the Red Sea environment in case quantities leak from the vessel.
