I buy a LIC that actively shorts 10% and l moved a % into bonds but the rest of portfolio will earn an income stream which l have tried to make as secure as l can.

(the market will rise and fall but the dividends stream is stable eg. UMAX seems to pay a high yield the more volatile things get. SOL BKW make it a priority to pay s'holders).

I used to buy shorts (did ok) but it was dumb luck I don't do anymore it's too stressful. if you get the timing wrong it microwaves you. (l feel like l need to buy a valium when l buy a short...)

but if you can handle it that's ok.
