l would agree.
one of the two managed funds l am in which used shorts was very over weight (long) in the US & EU banking sector before the collapses. l was sure they would use the opportunity (immediately post) to reduce their exposure to this risky sector. it looks to me like they only bought more specifically bak of America to increase holdings.
the fund chief Paul Moore has been around for decades, so is no spring chicken argues for the major banks. l was amazed?
while l was actively preparing buying bond (ETF's) cash reserves, buying index funds that employ covered calls (UMAX), buying managed funds which use shorts. l am not worried now.
what will happen will happen. be diversified and ensure your income stream is safe. not going to buy shorts directly. have done so in the past and not lost cash but led to sleepless nights.
