once this crisis has finished they will manufacture or find another crisis to worry about - it's how many firms make money. always a crises and we always get over it (although bad ones take a decade).

other than a macro crisis individual sectors crash every year. retail crashed a year ago, resources crashed many years back (l got S32 under $1).

the only thing l map and watch everyday, every month, every year for years in a monster spreadsheet is my portfolio movement to the index.

l need dividends to fill the fridge but apart from that really don't mind if the market is up or down; if l beat the index it's good. that's my benchmark.

yep the debt ceiling will be solved l think a few days after the last minute. bit more panic needed first. now is your opportunity to make some cash them personally l would offload a section just before it's resolved. l never sleep using shorts (but l am older now).
