Bezos stopped selling his shares because Washington State introduced a 7% tax on all shares sales above $250k.
Bezos stated he was going to sell the shares he sold this year, years ago but only recommenced selling on moving to Florida where there is no equivalent tax.
So no there is nothing in the timing othe than saving hundreds of millions of dollars in tax.
