Hey! Have you tried viewing this with log axes? Its makes WAY more sense, particularly over the long time frame in your picture. It basically means that a certain % drop today looks the same as an identical % drop at any point in the past or future. With a linear axis, like in your picture, price drops today look far larger than those in the past, which completely distorts our expectations.
There is an option to use log at the bottom right of the chart. Worth a look IMHO.
