My take on the 'retail is driving the increase' is that the big boys have been rotating through the sectors trying to squeeze every last cent out of them buying and selling to each other etc. as they went.. until retail comes along late to the party and holds the bag.

Coming in to certain weeks it's been obvious which sectors were about to go up, the last ones remaining, retail jump in and ta da, they're out. Lines up with the earlier post saying retail are often down on the stocks theyve gone into.

They're not driving it, but they are the driving force behind why it's happening. If, as an industry you knew there were thousands of inexperienced investors out there throwing money at anything that went up, and you needed to get out of your shares, what behaviour would you try and create - fomo and panic purchasing.

It's been amazing to watch, I'd say it's a phenominal con, but retail are doing it to themselves.
