You may expect some "confessions" to be made when results are not what the market expects .... rather than waiting weeks/months for the official announcement.

If I recall a post I made some weeks ago , mid July last year a few major banks gave their results in the US.

things appear so fluid in the US that maybe companies aren't rushing to provide guidance next few quarters until they have to.
