Imo market is full of investors trying to rationalise today's indices as a percentage of gains and falls. E.g. the charts pointed out by others in here indicating compelling logic drawing correlation to lows seen only last year...

To me Mr. Market is pricing a V shaped recovery in four weeks or whatever ridiculous timeframe Trump keeps telling him. The global demand has disintegrated, soon China will next be whinging that they have no one to sell to when they crank back to 100%. This recovery cannot be V shaped, as soon as you unleash people in swaths COVID-19 rears its head and we revert to back where we are. All these so called miracle treatment drugs seem to keeping the world's greatest Nation and perhaps City from sending all of its refrigerated morgues home???

The Market will need to rationalise this as we approach a new and steady normal. It's going to take the USA a little while to realise what the rest of us are, it doesn't all come back. Australia has flattened it's curve and our normal is 6-9 months of essential only outings and the socialised debt of mass job losses. Australian stock market is just blindly following USA's like the blind leading the blind even though we've all personally bought in and settled down to understand what our Countries new normal looks like..
