IMO the ASX500 peaked around June 9th and has been floundering around since, even with better-than-expected earnings season. Meanwhile the US markets powered past their June high's back in July. I think today will be a blood bath, with the potential for it to carry over in the US on Friday.
Volatility has been all over the place this week, I wouldn't be surprised if this is an inflection point.
