Yes, I remember the OOO debacle. Investors really got burned by that contract swap. Betashare fees are a percentage of the share price. The BBUS share price is 2.5-3% per 1% change of the S&P500 index in an inverse manner. The consolidation they propose will not have an effect on the value as the share price and fees will be proportional. However, it does window dress the product somewhat. The one thing I have learned (the hard way) be really careful and thoughtful about shorting the US market. Lots of money in the system = higher share prices and extreme valuations. I don't know if or when it will change.
