I can only see the Vic govt and Federal govt funding aldp projects that are a part of a quantum leap in technology and bc product. The time for the introduction of simple moisture reduction of bc and then shandy mix it with raw bc to operate in existing boilers is perhaps a decade or two past.

Before I read of the Dice research project at CSIRO I had some misgivings about BM getting over the line. As it would have been a tough sell for our JV and the Vic govts what with a fanatical green politics base in VIc.

IMO Exergen bce coupled with Dice power generation, bc gasification and liquid fuels, and fertilizer projects represent the sort of quantum leap in brown coal use that will be acceptable for Vic and Federal govt approval.
