Wouldn't lump all mining as simple logistics-type business... look at Olympic Dam of BHP its one of the most complex operational mines in the world that produces ore to final products (silver, gold, copper, uranium) it covers underground mine, crushers, smelters, refineries and hydromet circuits as well as acid plants and TSF facilities - all on one site.
No disrespect but these operations are not simple.
I do agree with the sentiment of him being in the business for 17 years and that he is in Chicago which has a different remuneration culture for directors of listed companies. Hopefully his remuneration could be modified to be a bit more weighted towards performance incentives.
I say bring on the FY2023!
