I emailed MC on a few matters and got some flash points of note:
1. Iridium and Zoleo are manufactured in Malaysia for those worried China lockdowns are an issue - China though does the legacy dock products but don't think these are a large part of the sales mix.
2. Aknowledges components are getting tighter not easier to get but they have managed it well to date and pre buying has been a part of this. As an aside has just launched Europe and no news on stock issues so looks like they are pretty well covered. Also we are shipping fairly small products so I don't think it is as bad as a car or furniture manufacturer for example (will ask a logistics friend about this).
3. Re being caught out by price rises seems we are insulated here with cost increaeses passed on to Iridium or Zoleo or the territory master distributor. Beam does not take (assume) the risk on on any fluctuations on these big contracts.
4. Could not comment on exactly how much spend was brought forward or what future cash flow quarters will look like but my gut feeling is they have really gone hard to load up and bring forward as much as they can ready for a large back end of 2022 CY. And in my view with a view to be flying and get the SP back above 50c and have the options taken up.
5. Confirms cash spend is no wasted opex but future supply and some R & D with Certus. I was worried we were looking at a black hole for 12 months being caught out on price rises but does not seem the case.
6. He feels the company has never been in a better position.
