I've checked the rainfall and there hasn't been enough to generate overland flow from inland, 7mm on Sunday and 10mm for the month, so I can only assume that prior to the walls being complete a high tide got some water in there. As it evaporates we should see some salt if that is the case or it might stay a mystery..
