on a similar but different note, I once worked for a public listed company that on average traded shares of less than 1000 per day. Then one day I noticed 1000's of shares being traded then 100's of 1000's traded - all within a 5 day period. I didn't know much regarding shares (and still don't) but after 5 days, the company was bought out, triple the starting share price.
imo, when there's a penny to be made, the rules go out the window. So now when I see large volumes being traded, I start to wonder?
