I have mentioned it a few times, there was always an incongruity about releasing S7 coal and then funding techs to develop said coal. Should always have been vice versa and now appears that will be the case.
They can, I guess start the tender process from sept onwards. Tender winners could be granted provisional access to S7 coal, conditional upon proving their tech and getting funding to go commercial say within two years. Thereafter, failure to develop renders the granted allocation null and void.
Not sure how the govt thinks but would have thought they can be all sorts of conditions on an S7 allocation.
Lack of infrastucture for exporting out of LV at this stage means there is no need for urgency in this process. Gets the tech demo plants built first. Even several demo techs being constructed would add jobs to the LV.
