Phillip Miriori, the Chairman of SMLOLA currently has a petition with over 2,000 signatures stating "they oppose the return of BCL to Panguna to explore/mine, and request the ABG to refuse the current EL application extension".
Mr Miriori said the SMLOLA petition against the return of BCL now represents around 2,000 members and continues to increase, an over whelming majority of the landholders within the Panguna minesite boundary.
I have noticed a deliberate attempt to convey that the views of the wider SMLOLA are not in line with Phillip Miriori's, and I must say this is just wrong. Phillip is well supported within the SMLOLA and will have a show of force on Monday.
