iron9, from what I understand yes you are obliged to pay the next two installemnts. If not they will sell up you initial investment and can charge you interest and any losses in trying to resell those installments.

I was considering buying some tomorrow. But what if you brought 50k, only a small punt. That means in April and 12mths latter you've got to cough up $50k each time unless you can sell them. Now in this market will you be able to sell them for more than you paid. Maybe, maybe not. I'd be a tad concerned I'd need to either loose on the sale to get rid of them or cough up $50k.

So I might not buy in. I'd say most are big investors or those hoping that they'll be able to onsell latter. But as per above you need to hope someone has the extra $1 per share to pay up in April. Maybe wrong but I see more down side and if conditions stay the same then after the div date they could almost be worthless.
