chuck, Once again,you need to try to look past your own narrow self-interest and see the greater good.
Whatever you seem to be afraid of, whether it is just a fear of shadows and things you dont understand well, or some real and unpleasant skeletons in your many closets, these changes in laws and procedures are being made based on real experience and the real life necessity that laws must change to deal with changing circumstances.
John Howard seemed to capture the essence quite well when he commented that we are trying to deal with this current terrorism with antiquated laws that do not adequately cover the situations and murky areas and provide many loopholes that these terrorist, their various enablers and enciters attempt to exploit as they go about their plans to destroy our communties.
As much as you seem to desperately want to cripple our governments ability to deal with this real and dangerous threat for whatever reasons you have, the greater good of the community is being well served by John Howard and his government.
