Just read an article which explained the "mutation" aspect .... very very interesting!!!

Not the subject of horror sci-fi movies as laughed at by SB - but in fact very simple!

All it needs is for a human to catch bird-flu, and at the SAME TIME be hit with a strain of the "normal" flu!!!

Very easy to happen, and voila!!! the genes of the two strains mix together into lethal cocktail!!

By the way, swine also are carriers of the "bird" flu, not just birds. Pigs are also prone to catching the human infuenza too. So a plausible scenario is for a pig in SE Asia somewhere to catch both flus & pass on the "mixed gene" or mutated flu onto a human, and a pandemic is in the making.

I have a few friends in scientific research here in Melbourne & according to them the threat is not only real, but almost inevitable!!
