Permitting has been complicated to say the least. Talga thought they would already be in production by 2017.
Talga trial mined in 2016 and then it just did not go anywhere. Not sure the reason. It has not been disclosed, was it the the lack of graphene product uptake or was it Sweden not allowing permitting. Don't know.

Talga did apply for another trial mine in 2020. One thing that is different this time we have a feasibility study for Talnode product. That should help with the Exploitation mining permitting. We submitted the environmental license and mining Exploitation permit in May 2020. The mining permitting process can usually take 12-20 months. So we are due for Yes or No. It seems we also needed to apply for Natura2000 permit in February 2021. Not sure how long that approval process takes.
This indicates that there are some nature protection measures that needs to be put in place. Additional to the Sami villages that require Talga not to mine 6 months of the year.

Its a difficult call. Can go double or all the way down based on the 19ktpa permitting outcome.

Talga have submitted open pit mine permitting application for 19,000 tonnes per annum in May 2020. This is the first time we have submitted such a application. With the outcome due. This outcome will make or break Talga.

Talga also have submitted a underground mine Exploitation permitting application in September 2021 for 84,000 tonnes per annum. Also the first time that Talga has submitted such a application. With outcome due in 2023. But note we have not submitted the Environmental permitting and Natura2000 permitting for this one yet.
Will submit after we receive 19ktpa environmental permitting. The 84ktpa one can be complicated with requirements to make sure the ground does not get polluted and effect the close by protected rivers and lake of Natura2000 protected area. Still long wait on this decision, but if that gets approved. Talga will go up way more than double in value.

So basically there is still upside even after the 19ktpa permitting approval. So you could get in after that if don't want to hold through the first step.

Off take will the next value step up after 19ktpa permitting and then the 84ktpa expansion big value step up.
