The race ended in a virtual tie -- though Gore got some 550k more votes than Bush Jr. and actually won Florida and the Electoral College, according to independent counts there.
Bush is governing from the far right, from his nomination of arch-conservatives like Ashcrack and Norton to his cabinet to his tax cuts for the super wealthy and push for a missile defense system that will not work and only give billions to his defense contractor chum-buddies.

It's amazing that we refer to the US system as democratic when Bush can claim the presidency while losing the national popular vote by a larger margin that Nixon won by in 1968 and Kennedy in 1960.
Let's face the facts: the only election Bush won was 5-4 by the Republican controlled U.S. Supreme Court, which intervened in a state matter and made probably the most partisan, anti-democratic decision in U.S. judicial history.

The court's decision, in effect, said this, "We are deciding who will be the next president, not you stupid voters. We don't care about counting all of the votes in an election. We don't care that you picked Gore; we want Bush and that's who will be our next president."

That's a fact no matter how you look at it. Bush JUNIORS credibility has been well and treuly flushed down the toilet before it even bloody begun!
