Goldensnapper, a $5 million placement would be pretty large considering BMO's low market cap, and they would need very good reason for it, eg. very encouraging gold hits; new aquisition or joint venture; etc.
This is not out of the question, as management expressed that they have aspirations to become a a mid-cap company within just a couple of years.
Such a scenario would obviously drive the share price up considerably before a placement, and so would require far fewer than 100 million new shares.
