    Thanks for posting that, Buffet.

It is a topic most worthy of a debate.

Anonymity is a a invitation for very bad behaviour. If the internet is to survive another decade, users will need to reveal their true identity. people have nothing to fear about revealing their identity. Using your own identity has the [1]affect of controlling your behaviour towards others, but not only that, it also controls the behaviour by others towards yourself . This brings us closer back to face-to- face contact with "REAL" human beings, not some mythical creature in never never land.

Hot Copper is one of the very few forums I use where I logon anonymously. I guess it's the nature of the beast that make me reluctant to use my real name.
Most other forums I use my real name and in some cases reveal my physical address.
In the tens years or so since I stopped using a pseudonym on these forums, I have never had a personal attack or death threat.
Sure, I get into the odd heated discussion, but that is it, simply a discussion.

    Cheers everyone ;)
