one day, maybe myself and mrs 40'll be in oz either full time or at least long periods.

my last trip to eagle farm back in march caused a chap to watch me. he watched me for my first 2 trips to the paddock and then asked me what i was looking at. ? i told him i was looking at the horses front legs. he asked why ? i told him because what i look for tells me if the horse's been prepared well for todays race. i don't know the horses ability cos i've no form to guide me but i know about front legs. he laughed and told me to look at their arse. well it turned out paddy had been in racing for yrs. had trained himself in oz and family trained back in ireland. he'd also worked the yards. we discussed, compared and challenged. we both came out about par. then paddy disappeared for the next (6th) race. but i put the legs AND the arse together. 2 hot favs in the race for a pre run to a much bigger event. my lil horse was 6's. but it won by a street. on my way to collect mi 35 bucks (i had a fiver on wheeeee !) i saw paddy in the distance. he was laughing his guts out. he too took the legs and the arse and put his weeks rent on. well, we did narf chuckle and agreed to meet up next time i get to brissy. we backed no more that afternoon. 6 races being enough for both of us. but have we found gold in our approach to betting he he?
