    That's a load of rubbish torpedo.

    Just taking a look at your chemical consumption, sure ARU uses more HCl per tonne, but produces more products, namely phosphoric acid and gypsum, and is able to recycle +90%, so the costs are not comparible to consumption. Same with energy consumption, if you leach produces phosphoric acid and gypsum from the apatite concentrate, and you had a 80% apatite concentrate, then you'd be removing roughly 80% of the mass(to products) and then the amountof energy you require would be proportionally reduced due to the mass.

    So using your numbers, your 5% concentrate would use 8 times more, then 90% would be recycled, so you'd only use 80% of LYC, your 5% concentrate would become a 25% concentrate, but the acid consumption would be much reduced due to the pretreatment and you'd have two other products to sell. Yay for you. Your cost of production may even be negative, as to your $50-100/kg, well that stinks a bit.

    The cerium numbers ignore tablet computing i reckon.
