What I did was pick a point in time when the shorting was the lowest then I calc every transaction that occurred. If the short seller sold on the ASIC daily report then I took the daily WAP times the shares sold and transfer the money to the bank I also added the share sale to a counter the kept tabs on the shares they had to repay. If they purchased shares the Borrowed share number was reduced and the bank account reduced. To calc is they are ahead or behind I simply look at the bank balance compared to the closing price times the number of shares they have to buy back to repay the share owner.
