The problem with that (as I see it) in the absence of even these mundane "business as usual- nothing to see hear" announcements, the market tends to assume (rightly or wrongly) that there must be undisclosed bad news (or at least the potential for that), despite continuous disclosure requirements . "Meeting our current goals and doing XXX towards improving returns" would be positive news at this point.
