1/ Employers need to be encouraged to take them on. I know there are already schemes, but these need to be made more attractive.
2/ Schools/Careers teachers need to encourage students to consider apprenteships.
ATM students are beign encoureged into tertiary courses at universities etc instead of doing trades The old "Tech" schools are no longer and now everyone wants to be and is activly encouraged by teachers/ careers advisers to be computer geeks or a brain surgeon lawyers accountants...won't have any carpenters, brickies plumbers,electricians welders, fitters etc at all if this trend continues
