I agree with you and have held and not sold just added over the last 2-3 years but there is a merit to trading and I should do this but fear it keep going and missing the big one.

What you say has merit but lets consider:
Buy 100,000 @ 25c (24th sept on the rise after the low) sell 50c just off the top
$25k less 40% CGT so clear $15k profit now buy back 10 Dec at 25c now have 160,000 shares

you now have 60% more shares. Lets say in a the next just is to $2

160,000 x 2 = 320,000 - 25,000 = 295,000 profit less 40% CGT = $177,000

Now

100,000 x 2 = 200,000 -25,000 - 175,000 profit less 20% CGT - $140,000
