That was the same conclusion that I came to Iceman, if this risk assessment in the US for the PRISM proves positive, then it may be that the 3rd generation reactors get skipped, after all they still produce the same waste products as the 2nd generation, their biggest claim to fame is that they are much safer, they have inbuilt safety features, but so does the PRISM reactor as well, so all that would do would prolong how long that type of used nuclear fuel is produced with all its inerrant nasties inbuilt.
In the recent articles I posted here, they said that all LWR reactors would be phased out when they reached the end of their useful life, if they started building 3rd generation reactors then that would just prolong how long they had to deal with that type of waste.
