Works a lot better than cold beer for sure as most have probably discovered the hard way.

But the worst ( not unpleasant ) of my experiences was close to dying at this place -- they had already brought the farang a towel and a fan because thy could see i was struggling, but then a cluey young guy gave me a spoon full of white sugar and that brought some immediate relief so it may be the sugar in the fruit helps .

But beer is not good for hot chili , unless you've already had a dozen.
