The interpretation is based on the Srebrenica massacre that has been deemed recently as genocide of 8000 Muslim males of fighting age.

The difference between the Srebrenica and Rafah safe zone is the rebel Serb Army allowed women, children and approx 20,000 residents to be evacuated to others areas in Bosnia.

Israel tactics was to push the Palestinians towards Egypt in the hope that a safe zone would be setup in the Egyptian Sinai.

Apparently the Israeli ambassador warned the Knesset of the probable consequences if Srebrenica was deemed genocide.
Apparently Germany and the US were adamant in pushing the ICJ to make a determination of genocide.
The Jewish community who have supported Bibi actions can blame these countries amongst others if the finding goes against Israel.

It appears, that the US and Israel acknowledge the work of the ICC and ICJ if the outcome is likely to favour them!
If Israel don’t recognise the jurisdiction of these entities, why did bother to send lawyers to defend the image of Israel?

The rumour is that Egypt is financially indebted to Israel and could be pressured into accepting them as residents.
Apparently, other countries were also involved with this financial inducements…the UN only needs for one of these nations to spiel on this financial arrangement to condemn Israel as committing genocide.

My understanding is that genocide simply means the need to make reparations….similar to Germany paying Israel over WWII.
