People still want/need to use energy to power their lives. An individual isn't going to be able to build an electric car and a charging network so that he can use that car in the same way he can use an ICE car.

He can't build grid sized renewable power to power his home, business and other activities.

However, when people get together and develop these things en masse, then they can enable all people to go emission free by changing their supply network from a co2 emission producing one to a net zero emissions one.

Once that happens, it doesn't matter how much energy they use as it's emission free.

Who cares if a handful of people fly around the world communicating and getting the message out. Enabling the switch to renewables by their actions.
Their emissions aren't important in the scheme of things if they get the world to change how it produces power.

Which is effectively what's happened with the likes of Gore.

The world is now firmly on it's way to an emission reduction policy. In the future people like Gore will still travel the world but they will be doing it with a low emission footprint. Who cares how big Gore's house is ? If it is run off renewables it simply doesn't matter.

Governments are supposed to do what the community wants. That's their role. The government has the charter and the size to do so.
That's why we need to pressure the government to create change.

Yeah I get that, but a bit more push from the demand side of the equation might get a supply side impact and speed things up.
