All BNPL companies are not profitable. Not one has ever turned a profit, not once (except for Humm, but they are not pure BNPL).
Afterpay is now being plunged straight into the doldrums where it belongs, after an unexplainable huge run fueled only by mindless apes whom did not understand they were buying into a huge loss making business.
Prior to the $30m equity cash injection, B4P was looking down the barrel of administration with -$13m of equity. This cash should allow them to get the balance sheet back in the black but for how long? Will investors be willing to fork out more money at a huge discount to keep the business afloat, or will the lenders come knocking on the door?
time will tell.
