Right, I will try and remain logical, reasoned and impassionate.

"The police then went back to the house and assessed the children and assessed that they were safe so that is where they remain".

I agree with the assessment. Within the house the little girl (and presumably) the other children are safe, from beheadings and other acts of religiously incited violence, at least. Long term emotional and psychological damage may be a separate issue and hard to determine on a single (and telegraphed) visit.

The thing to understand is that there is both a victim mentality and a aggresive, retalatory mentality operating within these minds simultaneously.

Note: Israel and the other Arab Nations

How does this stop? Well if anyone had the answer to this, they would get the Nobel Prize for Peace for finding a Middle East solution.

The point is, and this needs to be grasped, is that those parents who have come from this background are permanently scarred and damaged, and will always be that way. The slightest of slight, and they flare up (No matter, how balanced and conciliatory they appear on orchestrated media conferences).

The only hope is that their children are raised free of the cycle of violence, have a chance to grow up as well adjusted adults, integrated into Australian society, but still holding onto those aspects of their religion and culture that are congruent with their new life.

Coming back to the topic, that is of course, if their parents allow them to, and do not use them as instruments to vent their anger, hurt and hatred.

What does this tell you about the 17 and 18 year olds involved in the violent protests?

If the parents are intent on using their children in this manner, the only hope for the children is to remove them from the situation. Whilst Social Workers seem to have no hesitation in doing this to white families, domestic violence, abuse, substance abuse etc.

To implement it for other families would not go down well.
