The article suggests that the battery plant would supply energy storage solutions. If you were also catering to the Australian market it would make sense to be located on the population dense east coast of Oz.
If you were simply catering to India, sure set up there or if you needed to stay in Oz but still supply them, somewhere like northern Western Australia (Port Hedland) would be better located i.e. near lithium and less shipping from Tanzania and to India.
But whatever. Decisions would be made with understanding beyond my onlooker knowledge. Magnis management are as usual showing they have vision and are in this game for the long run. In Franks we Trust
